Work in Progress #2 and New Product

Posted 22 Apr 2011 by Veronica Atanacio
Well, as I finished the image, now Im going to show the coloring process. I love that part. It's time to bring life to the stamp.

1) I fill each part with the basic tones. Sometimes, with the magic of Phothoshop I changed some colors, but normally before I start the painting part I already know the pallette I'm going to use.

2) Done. Looks nice, but very flat. So, it's time to shading and lighting. In this way, the character will have many more grace and expression; don't you think? Yes, so far it looks weird, but wait until I blend the colors.

3) I start to gently blend the colors. I also like to use textured brushes to achieve a more traditional look.

4) One thing I like to do is look what I painted so far hiding the layer where the outline are. Is a way to see if I'm going well so far and if I can glimpse the shapes even without the outlines.

5) Looks finished but is missing a special detail. For this kind of images, wich are very delicate, I like to dye the outlines with the same color, only slightly darker than that used for the bases. Looks better to me.

6) Now it's finished!! I like the result; delicate and romantic. I named Spring Break and it's available in the store now!!

Hugs!!

Work in Progress

Posted by Veronica Atanacio
Hello everyone!!! Today I'd like to show our new upcoming product, but as a work in process. I think is a fun way to access to the "kitchen" of our digital stamps.

1) I`m working on this cute girl, a perfect image for this time of year. The first thing I do is scan my image and prepare my canvas in Photoshop:

2) Then, the fun part begins. This kind of characters requires a special attention to details in order to have a very neat result. I always start with the face. If the expresion is fine, the essence of the image, everything else can be fixed if ncessesary.

3) For this kind of characters, wich are very delicates, I like to use a thin line. In this way, the picture is better represented. I also check the image on a white canvas in order to see if everything is fine.

4) I continue until the design is finished. Constantly I check that each part is well done.

So, this is it for now. In the next post I will bring to life the character giving color! Stay tuned. ;o)

Hugs!

The Sweetest Love - "Paper Pack"

Posted 19 Apr 2011 by Veronica Atanacio

Some time ago, about a year and a half ago, I made "The sweetest love". A printable product for my main store Folkvangar. Looking for some resources in my own stock (I like to use my items as a resource for new derivative designs) I realize that it would be a nice idea extract some parts and patterns from "The Sweetest Love" to create a new pack of papers for TPS. I always love that product wich includes some ready to assembly boxes, tags and digistamps. If you're interested you can check "The Sweetest Love" here:

So, I hope you like what I created. I personally love the result, the combination of colors and patterns. Hopefully you like this product too. I'll look forward to see your beautiful creations using them.
Hugs!
